Route
Two route options
65km / 40 miles 750m climbing
100km / 62 miles 1200m climbing
Starting in amongst the vines of Denbies Wine Estate this years training route starts with a punch weaving up a private road through the vineyard giving off vibes of Tuscany rather than Surrey!
After this the route rolls over the iconic Box Hill before weaving through the country lanes to our coffee stop at 48km. One final push over the famous Leith Hill before the descent back to Denbies provides the perfect training for the challenges ahead!
Other Information
VEHICLE SUPPORT
At strategic points we have the security of our support vehicle. You will be able to leave extra layers / spare kit etc. here during the day, and you will also be able to stock up on water, snacks and energy products whenever you need a boost.
MONEY
We suggest carrying £10.00 – £20.00 and a credit/debit card for the coffee stop and in-case of emergency. Other expenditure, such as post ride drinks and food are at your own discretion.
EQUIPMENT
It is essential that you ride a road bike that is in good mechanical order. If you are not mechanically minded, we advise you to take your bike to a local bicycle dealer for a service. Our ride leaders will of course be carrying a tool kit and a selection of spares, which we will provide should the need arise, but please be sure to carry your own basic tool kit, pump, spare tubes, and any specific spare parts you may require for your bike – especially unusual spokes. We also recommend bringing a spare derailleur hanger specifically for your bike.
BIKE HIRE
We have a number of different bike hire options available from basic road bikes up to elite bikes courtesy of our partner Specialized bikes. If you require a hire bike for the day please see our bike hire page or contact us for more details
INSURANCE
Although not compulsory, it is highly recommended to have a personal accident insurance policy when attending a Just Pedal cycling event. Also, your bike should also be fully covered by some form of insurance policy. Our insurance partner Yellow Jersey provide policies specifically aimed at cyclists. You will also get a 10% discount omn your premium with the code JUSTPEDAL10. Click here for more info.
